Stress and Magnesium – The Rescue Mineral

by | Jul 14, 2016

Stress gobbles up our magnesium reserves leaving most of us deficient in this crucial nutrient. Therefore, I advise all of my patients to take supplemental magnesium to avoid deficiency symptoms.

Furthermore, here are some of the most common signs of magnesium deficiency: anxiety, difficulty falling or staying asleep, fibromyalgia, muscular pains, spasms or tics, migraines, and high blood pressure.

Stress Support and More

As a result of an epidemic of magnesium deficiency, I usually suggest a bedtime dose in support of a good night’s sleep. I also find magnesium very helpful in treating pain from tight muscles, hypertension, and in the prevention of diabetes.

Because magnesium isn’t absorbed well by many individuals I’ll usually suggest a daily dose ranging from 400-800 mg. to see what works best.

Here is a recent article that focuses on the role of magnesium in treating hypertension, and many other issues.

Enjoy!
