Activate Your Brain to Repair Itself

by | May 31, 2016

One of the most exciting breakthroughs in healthcare focuses on the potential for the brain to repair itself. This capacity for self-renewal is generally known as neuroplasticity.

The brain’s ability to grow in adult life and repair itself has been documented with MRI images in a recent study on schizophrenia. When we know how to consciously activate brain integration and repair, we can become more confident in our healing abilities.

More and more I’m relying on the brain’s capacity for re-balancing and self-repair to treat any and all issues since the brain is in charge of guiding our self-healing resources.

The number one key to brain balancing (and to turning off the stress response) is to get out of your head and connect with bodily felt experience consciously, patiently, and kindly.

This special quality of connectedness to our bodies is more fundamental to healing than techniques like acupuncture, working with crystals,  or Energy Psychology Tapping techniques because it is the primary way we activate the middle prefrontal cortex … the brain integration center. Those energy-based tools are powerful strategies to assist healing but focused awareness trumps them both when it comes to activating the self-healing capacity of our brain and body.

What follows is a simple process from my Neuro-Reset Brain Integration training for helping your brain to heal itself … and for supporting any stress-related symptom or illness. Since at least 75% of all illness is stress-induced this can be a powerful addition to your self-healing tools.

Hourly Check-In

Step One: Get Out of Your Head … by noticing a feeling or sensation in your body. For example, you could notice a tightness in your chest, your heartbeat, an anxious feeling, a peaceful feeling … any sensation or feeling will do. Negative feelings will work as well as positive ones. Actually, with practice, you’ll see that the negative feelings are an invitation to help you balance your brain and to feel better physically, emotionally, and cognitively.

Step Two: Gently touch the place you’re feeling your feelings. For example, you could lay a hand on your heart.

Step Three: Take one very slow, silent, and gentle breath. Allow for five or so seconds for the inhale … and five or so seconds for the exhale.

That simple shift from your head to your body will activate the process of brain integration … which leads to a positive change in gene expression and self-healing.

This process can be done within about fifteen seconds. It’s free. And it’s part of a brain reprogramming process that you are ultimately in charge of and can repeat at will. And you can share it with your friends.

Enjoy!
